As tedious as rendering can be - the effects are sure worth the time. Even with realism, I love experimenting with various styles and techniques - the smoothness of oil paintings, or sharp visible brush strokes, gradient maps, mixing brushes etc.

A sketch doesn't have to be boring and colourless. By setting myself a time limit, I push myself to deliver the best quality in the shortest possible time - a skill that is often necessary when working with a team on ambitious projects.
